Mick Langan is a native Dubliner who has worked in Irish cultural tourism for over 15 years. His skill and commitment in representing Ireland to overseas visitors was recognised by Fáilte Ireland with a National Award for making "an exceptional contribution to the Irish Tourism Industry". His landscape photography has been used by Tourism Ireland to promote the country at home and abroad. His book "Illuminations: Photographs of Ireland in Natural Light” has been used by Irish embassies and the Department of Foreign Affairs in promoting Ireland worldwide. He is the in-house photographer of the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra and has worked on their tours of North America and China. A professional composer, his music has toured the United States. Mick has seen first-hand the benefits of promoting Irish culture abroad and in particular its capacity for bringing overseas visitors to Ireland.
He is running as an Independent for the NUI seat in Seanad Éireann to safeguard and promote this productive sector of our economy in a sustainable and responsible way. Vote No 1 Mick Langan.
